Thirteen-year-old gelding Abundaspin's victory in the weekly $1,800 Open highlighted Friday's harness racing card at Charlottetown Driving Park.
The veteran trotter earned his ninth win of the season with a 2:02 first over victory over a 'good' surface for trainer/driver Harold Shepherd and owner Mikaela Lustic of Warren Grove, P.E.I. The race favourite prevailed by one length over early leader Zip The Lip and Caliban Hanover. He paid $3.50 to win.
Since arriving on the East Coast in June, he's earned six wins and has yet to miss the board in eight starts.
Abundaspin now boasts 66 wins on his lifetime record and earnings totalling $460,325.
