Piste de Course Rive-Nord (Farm Allard) at St-Esprit, Que. will host its a second annual day of harness racing and family fun on Saturday afternoon.
Farm Allard will host 10 harness races on Saturday with first race post time set for 1 p.m. Entry is free and races will go rain or shine.
Driver Simon Allard and trainer Rene Allard are both scheduled to drive during the card.
"We'll be both driving actually," Rene told Trot Insider. "I'll be driving a horse for the first time in I don't know how many years. It's more for fun than anything.
"Darrell Coville has been invited as a special guest as well. He recently hit the 6,500 lifetime win mark as a driver and he's the driver who has the most wins in Rideau Carleton Raceway history. He'll be driving in one of the races and Simon is going to be driving as well, he's the current leading driver at Rideau."
Other events will include miniature pony races, racing under saddle, and a hot dog eating contest. A pig roast will be offered at 5 p.m. for $17. All profits will go to Centraide.
"After there's going to be music and a party and it's going to go probably all night," added Rene. "Everybody is invited. It should be a lot of fun."
