Last week, class relief helped Sidd Finch run off the screen by five lengths. Despite climbing back up the ladder, Sidd Finch won again by more and faster as he captured the $27,778 featured trot on Thursday, Aug. 1 at Plainridge Park.

Drew Campbell steered Sidd Finch to the top off the gate and had a two-length lead at the :27.4 quarter, and from there his lead only grew. Sidd Finch got to the half in :57.1 and three-quarters in 1:25.1 as he extended his advantage to four lengths. As the field tried to keep up as best they could, Drew and Sidd rounded the last turn and trotted home alone to win by 5-3/4 lengths in 1:53.1, taking a new seasonal mark.

It was the eighth win of the year for Sidd Finch ($3.20) and pushed his 2024 earnings to $117,608 for owner John Barnard. Irwin Rosenthal trains the winner.

Bruce Ranger was the premier pilot on Thursday after scoring a grand slam during the card. Ranger won with Treatyofversailles (1:55.4, $10.20) and Dejerate Hanover (1:54.4, $2.40), both of which were trained by Domenico Cecere, and then Chav Hanover (1:59, $5.60) and CBF Squirt Gun (1:52.3, $3.80) completed his foursome.

Live harness racing resumes at Plainridge Park on Monday, Aug. 5 with post time at 4 p.m. and the card will feature a $2,007 carryover in the Wicked Hi-5 in the sixth race
