On the heels of three consecutive runner-up performances, Freddie found his way to victory lane thanks to a front-stepping score in Thursday’s $2,250 Open Trot at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

Freddie was hustled to the lead from Post 4, and he proceeded to whack out fractions of :30.1, 1:01.3 and 1:31.4 for trainer/driver Marc Campbell before kicking home in :29 to win by a half-length margin over even-money favourite Majian Tango in 2:00.4. Suicide Shift tagged along to nab the show dough in the five-horse affair.

Three Wisemen Stable of Kingston, PE owns the seven-year-old son of Majestic Son-Circe Hanover. The 52-time winner improved this year’s record to 5-4-0 from 11 trips to the track. He recently surpassed $140,000 in lifetime earnings.
