After having been thwarted for win No. 100 on multiple occasions, Foiled Again, harness racing’s richest-ever racehorse, got the job done on Sunday (July 8) at Harrah’s Philadelphia, and his feat has not been lost on a particular mainstream media outlet.

In February, WCBS-TV (Channel 2) in New York City threw its spotlight on the incomparable son of Dragon Again, as the career winner of $7.6 million was looking for win No. 100 at Yonkers Raceway.

The industry has watched in anticipation of the milestone victory all year. Although he was close on multiple occasions, the veteran Ron Burke trainee was unable to get over the proverbial hump – that was until his wire-to-wire win from Post 1 at Harrah’s Philly on Sunday.

The milestone was not lost on WCBS-TV, which ran a piece on the monumental win even though it was achieved at a racecourse outside of the state.

WCBS-TV (Channel 2) sports anchor Steve Overmyer aired the late-stretch drive of Foiled Again’s historic win during the 11 p.m. newscast. Overmyer, who had covered the story earlier in the year, subsequently became a ‘Foiled fan,’ as he dutifully checked the entries and results while keeping tabs on the Standardbred legend.
