Euchred ($2.30) continued to trump his rivals on Sunday (July 9) at Inverness Raceway, as the Walter Walker-reined and trained gelding extended his win streak to five over the half-mile Nova Scotia oval.

The wagering public was all aboard Euchred for the $1,100 Winner’s Over Pace (Race 7), as punters hammered the five-year-old son of Shadow Play down to 15 cents on the dollar.

Euchred, who is owned by Kayla Habicht Walker of Inverness, started from the outer Post 5 and led from start to finish. He cut the fractions in :28, :57.3 and 1:28.3 and came home in :30.1 to post a one and a quarter-length victory.

Unstoppable Speed, who started from the rail and took a two-hole trip for driver Shelby Miller, finished second. Vital Art (driven by Joseph Poirier) finished third, almost 10 lengths back of the victor.
