Early Hambletonian favourite Muscle Hill headlined this morning’s qualifying session at the Meadowlands Racetrack with a powerful 10-length romp

The third race saw Muscle Hill put in his second qualifier since winning his $200,000 New Jersey Sires Stakes final on June 13. With Brian Sears at the lines, the sophomore son of Muscles Yankee tracked his stablemate My Back Pages (Greg Peck) through panels of :29.2, :57.3 and 1:26.4 before unleashing a :27.2 final frame and pulling away by 10 lengths. Muscle Hill stopped the clock in 1:54.2.
Honorable Daughter front-stepped her way to a 1:55.3 score in the fourth qualifier of the day for trainer Larry Remmen. In rein to John Campbell, the three-year-old daughter of Malabar Man, who won her Empire Breeders Classic elim and the $212,875 final on May 25, carved out fractions of :28.4, :58.2 and 1:27.2 en route to a seven-length score.
Returning from Sweden, Enough Talk rolled to a 1:56 score in Race 6 for trainer, driver and part-owner Peter Kleinhans. The six-year-old Enjoy Lavec millionaire cruised to the quarter in :29.2, but was shuffled back to third through middle panels of :59 and 1:27.3 as One Nineteen (John Campbell) and Let Get Serious N (Andy Miller) took turns on the front end. Enough Talk kicked into action at the third quarter and sprinted home in :27.4 to win by two and three-quarter lengths in 1:56.
White Birch Farms’s Darlins Delight returned to action after finishing seventh in the Classic Distaff at Mohawk Racetrack on June 13 and being vet scratched from the Lady Liberty. She and driver Yannick Gingras won the sixth qualifier in wire-to-wire fashion stopping the clock in 1:53.1. After cruising through panels of :29.1, :58.2 and 1:27.2, the six-year-old Bettors Delight mare powered home in :25.4 to win by nine and three-quarter lengths. The two-time harness racing millionaire is trained by Jeffrey Stafford.
