New Mark For Hurrikane Lori Ann

Published: July 8, 2021 06:41 pm EDT

Hurrikane Lori Ann pulled the pocket through the final turn and rolled to victory in 1:51.3, a lifetime mark, in Thursday’s (July 8) feature at The Meadows, a $10,300 fillies and mares conditioned pace.

Hurrikane Lori Ann sat comfortably in the pocket while the well-meant Amelias Courage A threw down a 1:23.4 three-quarters. That was the signal for Tony Hall to move the five-year-old daughter of Lis Mara-Luxury Goods, who defeated Amelias Courage A by four lengths. Something Reel was a ground-saving third.

Samantha Blystone trains the winner, who lifted her career bankroll to $145,213, for J.R. Ryan and Collen Ryan.

Hunter Myers and trainer Dana Kahrig teamed for a pair of victories on the 13-race card.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Friday (July 9), when the 13-race program features the Ned McCarr, a $38,345 Arden Downs Grand Circuit Stake for three-year-old filly trotters. The card also offers a trio of carryovers: $10,527.32 in the final-race Super Hi-5, $2,245.65 in the Early Pick-4 (races 2-5), and $862.16 in the Pick-5 (races 8-12). First post is 12:45 p.m.
