Colic Scare For Goodtimes Champ

Trot Insider has learned that 2017 Goodtimes winner International Moni was scratched from his Saturday night contest at The Meadowlands after suffering from a bout of colic.

Trainer Frank Antonacci reported that the horse first showed some signs of discomfort Friday morning after jogging. He was treated at the farm before being transported to a veterinary clinic where he passed a good amount of manure while en route.

According to Antonacci, the plan was to get a tightener into the horse tonight before next week's Stanley Dancer Memorial but those plans have been put on hold with a bigger picture possibly still in sight for the connections -- the Hambletonian on August 5.

Unbeaten in two sophomore starts, International Moni is a son of French stallion Love You from the legendary trotting mare Moni Maker. He last raced in the Goodtimes Final on North America Cup night (June 17) at Mohawk Racetrack, where he took his lifetime mark of 1:52.4.
