Powering to the front after the half, Boknows Momngranny stormed to a 10-and-three-quarter length victory in the $1,200 Winners-Over feature pace at Northside Downs on Saturday, July 7.
Sitting third at the quarter, Boknows Momngranny sat off a :29.1 opening quarter set by Burn Em Up Burr taking the lead from Im A Sumbunnie moving into the second turn. Driver Greg Sparling edged the John Hawco trainee first over heading to the half, timed in :58.4.
Boknows Momngranny overtook Burn Em Up Burr moving to the backstretch and opened a four-and-a-half length lead passing three-quarters in 1:27.3, widening the margin into the stretch and through the wire to win in 1:58. Burn Em Up Burr chased in second and Im A Sumbunnie held third.
An 11-year-old gelding by Bo Knows Jate out of the Apaches Fame mare Leanne Fame, Boknows Momngranny, owned by Melissa Hawco, won for the first time in four starts this season and the 35th in 201 overall, earning $102,646. He paid $10.90 to win.
