After two attempts at a successful qualifying mile, Neon Moon was spot on for trainer-owner Jack Darling during Friday morning's qualifiers at Mohawk Racetrack.
The third time was definitely the charm for rookie pacing filly Neon Moon, who made breaks for Darling and driver Jody Jamieson in her first two outings on June 26 and 30. Her July 7 test was flawless, pacing gate-to-wire for a 1:57.1 score -- the fastest of the session's qualifying races.
A homebred daughter of Sportswriter, Neon Moon is the first foal of former Darling pupil Beach Of A Time p,3,1:52.2s ($67,939).
