Thirty-seven freshman fillies of the trotting gait flocked to Georgian Downs for a Tuesday evening five-pack of OSS Grassroots events, and trainer Bob McIntosh and driver Alfie Carroll joined forces to win a set of those stakes.

Carroll also clicked with Ballykeel Rocket, who kicked off the rookie parade with a 2:03.2 score in her $18,000 division. The youngster sat third through opening half fractions of :31.1 and 1:01.1 before going into attack mode for driver Alfie Carroll. The filly was a length away from the tempo-setting Shes All Muscle at the three-quarter pole in 1:32.4, but Ballykeel Rocket used a :30.2 closing panel to draw clear by a pair of lengths over Shes All Muscle. Darling Diva wound up third.

Richard Moreau trains the homebred daughter of Majestic Son-Bullet Dream for Ballykeel Racing Inc of Tillsonburg, Ontario.

The second division also went to a homebred as Tough Affair turned in a 2:00.3 decision for trainer Bob McIntosh. Alfie Carroll also mapped out the winning trip for the daughter of Muscle Mass-Armbro Affair, who rallied from just off the lead to win by 4-1/4 lengths over Shes In Gear. Taking home third prize was Windsongmusclelady.

Robert McIntosh Stables Inc of Windsor, Ontario and C S X Stables of Liberty Center, Ohio own the maiden-breaking miss.

Jangone went to the front and didn’t look back in her $18,000 assignment. The filly fired to the lead from Post 7 and successfully carved out panels of :31, 1:01.4 and 1:33.3 before kicking home in :30.1 to halt the teletimer in 2:03.4. She was 3-3/4 lengths better than The Power Of Many, with Shezastrikin Loral rounding out the top three finishers.

Overseas Farms Ltd of Campbellville, Ontario owns the daughter of Johnny Williams-Panderosa F, who is now 2-for-2 to kick off her career. The homebred has banked $11,800 to date.

Its All About Sam was treated to a covered-up trip in the fourth division, and she took full advantage of it en route to posting a three-length triumph in 2:02.3 for driver James MacDonald and trainer Scott McEneny. The filly got away fifth before angling off the rail and tracking cover to the three-quarter pole. She stormed home in :29.4 and won in a convincing manner over First Mission. Rounding out the top three finishers was Attitude To Burn.

The daughter of Angus Hall-Spring Lane Joanie was a $10,000 purchase from last year’s Harrisburg Yearling Sale. The half-sister to Strong Hope (1:54 - $491,764) is owned by Brad Grant, Teresa Davidson and Michelle McEneny.

Trainer McIntosh and driver Carroll celebrated a second stakes score thanks to a 2:05.3 triumph in the final division with Krafty. The homebred daughter of Kadabra-Exquisitelycrafted shot to the front and sliced out splits of :32, 1:05 and 1:35.4 before sprinting home in :29.4 to win by three-quarters of a length over Marina. Malibu Seelster took home the show dough.

Sent off as the 3-2 favourite, Krafty notched the maiden-breaking win for owners Robert McIntosh Stables Inc, C S X Stables and Dave Boyle.
