Two-year-old trotting fillies Angelette Hanover and Woodshopper picked up their first career wins on Wednesday night in their second leg New Jersey Sires

Stakes divisions at the Meadowlands Racetrack.

Trained and driven by Trond Smedshammer, Angelette Hanover ($11.40) advanced first over from fourth as the field raced past the three-quarters mark in her $27,000 division and edged out Thatsnotmyname (John Campbell) and pacesetter Redwhitenbluestone (Brian Sears) by a head for the 1:56.3 triumph.

The daughter of Yankee Glide-Angelina Hall, who finished third in her first New Jersey Sires Stakes event on June 24, was a $110,000 Harrisburg yearling purchase for Michael Andrew of Gorham, Maine.

In the next event worth $27,500, John Campbell sent Woodshopper ($11.00) to the lead from Post 9 and they cleared past the opening quarter before trotting on to score in 1:58 by one and a quarter length. Gracie Marie (George Brennan) was the runner-up with favourite Seducedbychocolate (David Miller) finishing third.

Woodshopper was making her career debut for trainer Larry Remmen. The daughter of Muscles Yankee-Woodwork was purchased for $65,000 at the Harrisburg sale by John Lichtenberger of North Bergen and Ray Remmen of East Rutherford, New Jersey.
