The only thing hotter than the recent weather is southwestern Ontario is the three-year-old pacing colt Sportsline, who extended his winning streak to nine on Saturday evening at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
Sportsline sparred with a number of older rivals in a $19,000 conditioned event, and after being treated to a two-hole trip for the majority of the mile he launched a late bid and won in going away fashion for driver Trevor Henry.
The son of Sportswriter-Angel In Disguise chopped out the opening quarter in :27.2 before giving way to race favourite Tyga Hanover. That sophomore in turn sliced out middle splits of :54.3 and 1:23.4 before being hauled down in the closing strides by Sportsline. He used a :26.4 closing quarter to win by 1-1/2 lengths over Tyga Hanover in 1:50.4. Third prize went to Fast N First.

Big Bang Boom backed away going into the final turn, and that sent Bronx Seelster three-wide to come after Century Farroh to the three-quarter pole in 1:22.2. Stag Party enjoyed a two-hole trip behind Century Farroh, but even he could only watch that colt step away in the deep stretch. Century Farroh cruised to the comfortable win over Stag Party and Royal Renegade.
