The I Love Canadian Harness Racing Fan Club’s June Zoom winner is Dawn MacInnis of Summerside, PEI. Dawn’s winning photo is of horses swinging in behind the starting the gate at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at Charlottetown Driving Park.
MacInnis has deep roots within the industry and has been around the racetrack her entire life. She decided to try her hand at photographing the races about seven years ago and it has since become one of her favourite hobbies.
“I decided to take this photo because I like to try and capture the horses in motion, with their noses on the gate and their feet off the ground,” Dawn explained.
More recently, she created a Facebook page called “Humans of Harness Racing”
to showcase her photos, pairing each one with a story from people who are involved in the industry.
Dawn has won a $50 Fan Club prize package. Congrats! And thank you to our other finalists:
