Myluvmylife and Uncle Peter scored the fastest miles in their respective classes of the W.N. Reynolds Memorial Stakes on Tuesday night at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs
. The Reynolds races are the highlight of Grand Circuit Week, which began at Pocono on Tuesday.
There were five “Judge Moore” Reynolds divisions held for two-year-old colts and geldings on the trot, which held purses ranging from $19,891 to $20,291. In addition, there were three more “Leda Long” divisions held for three-year-old fillies on the pace, each with a purse of $21,967.
Myluvmylife, driven by Tim Tetrick for trainer Joseph King, made her first victory of 2011 a memorable one, as she burned her way to a Leda Long win in a career-best 1:51.
Other winners in the three-year-old pacing filly class were Mikayla Rose (Tetrick, Justin Lebo) in 1:51:3 and In Deep Thought (Dave Palone, Robert Reeser) in 1:52.
Uncle Peter put on a stellar performance in his debut race, as trainer/driver Jimmy Takter guided him to a Judge Moore win by 14 lengths in a sizzling 1:55:1.
Other two-year-old trotting colts and geldings winners were Astarsborn Hanover (Ray Schnittker driver and trainer) in 1:57:2, Lad Pine (David Miller, Joe Holloway) in 1:57:2, Possess The Will (Tetrick, Jim Campbell) in 1:57:3 and Weingartner (Takter driver and trainer) in 1:55:1.
Reynolds action continues at Pocono on Wednesday night with eight divisions of the “Meda” for two-year-old trotting fillies.
