The draw is complete for Eldorado Scioto Down’s Next Generation night on Saturday (July 6). First post for the 15-race card is set for 5:45 p.m.
Races seven through twelve will be broadcast on Fox Sports 2 with NYRA’s America’s Day at the Races from 8:00-11:00 p.m., along with races from The Meadowlands. Scioto’s covered events will be the four Next Generation races, the Moni Maker and a division of the Ohio Sires Stakes for three-year-old colt pacers. Gabe Prewitt and Jenna Otten will host from Scioto, while Jessica Otten is live at The Meadowlands; Chris Griffin and Paul Vederosa will provide studio coverage.
Other activities for the on-track Saturday evening experience include:
- Meet & greet with Moni Maker connections Wally Hennessey & Jimmy Takter from 5:15-6:30 p.m.
- Petting zoo from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
- Special BBQ dinner on the patio, with proceeds going to the Standardbred Transition Alliance
- Food trucks on site, including Dos Hermanos on the Northside of the grandstand
- Celebrity match race between Gabe Prewitt & Pete Aiello after race four
- Special guest post parade before the Moni Maker (race 11)
- T-shirt tosses in between races
Racing fans can enter to win a Brett Miller signed photo of Charlie May, one of the inaugural Next Generation winners, by following @SciotoRacing on X (formerly Twitter) and re-posting anything the account puts out this week with the hashtag #ScDNextGen.
In addition, the Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association will livestream from the Three Diamonds room in the grandstand through their Facebook page starting at 8:00 p.m.
All entries of the Next Generation, Nadia Lobell, Moni Maker and the OHSS three-year-old colt trot are required to report to detention at least six hours prior to the advertised post time of the race. Detention times are available on the USTA’s entries/results page.
The 90-day 2024 Eldorado Scioto Downs race meet runs through Saturday, September 14. Races are held Tuesday-Saturday with a first post of 5:45 p.m. each day, except for Thursday, July 4th with a post of 3:15 p.m. and Friday, September 13 which will have a 6:15 p.m. post to help accommodate horsemen attending the Ohio Selected Yearling Sale.
