Driver Jonathan Drury guided seven two-year-olds from the stable of trainer Casie Coleman Herlihy to victory from the 11 baby races carded for rookie pacers on Saturday (July 4) at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

Of those seven impressive qualifiers, five were pacing colts and two were fillies. Six of the seven were sons / daughters of first crop stallion Betting Line.

The quickest colt of the morning was Coleman Herlihy's Linedrive Hanover. Drury settled Linedrive Hanover into third during the second qualifier of the morning, allowing Tapestry (Daryl Thiessen) to front the field through a :30.2 opening quarter. Linedrive Hanover was right-lined as the field straightened down the backside and made the lead with a three-length advantage at the :59.3 half. Linedrive Hanover then found another gear for the back half of the mile, hitting the third station in 1:26.4 before sprinting home in :26.3 to trip the timer some 18 lengths the best in 1:53.2. D Gs Runforhim (Louis-Philippe Roy) was second ahead of Tapestry.

A $75,000 Harrisburg purchase as a yearling, Linedrive Hanover (Betting Line - Lillian Hanover) is owned by West Wins Stable of Cambridge, Ont,, Kevin McKinlay of Holland Landing, Ont. Mac Nichol of Burlington, Ont. and J L Benson Stables Inc. of Fort Lauderdale, Fl. Linedrive Hanover is a half-brother to the speedy stakes winning millionaire Dealt A Winner.

Drury and pacing filly Indra Hanover employed similar tactics to capture their qualifying outing, settling third early behind Ourlittlemiracle (Louis-Philippe Roy) through a :29.4 opening split and then moving to the lead down the backside before the half. After middle panels of :59.2 and 1:28, Indra Hanover had company as Ourlittlemiracle challenged in the stretch from the pocket but Indra Hanover wouldn't be denied, holding on to win by a half-length in 1:55.1.

A daughter of Betting Line from the speedy open class pacing mare Ideal Newton, Indra Hanover was a $65,000 Harrisburg purchase of West Wins Stable, Steve Heimbecker of Conestogo, Ont., Mac Nichol and Dumain Haven Farm of Pine Bush, N.Y. She's a sibling to the speedy Closing Statement and Inverse Hanover.
