Casimir Jitterbug danced to victory in the $22,200 Baby To Boomer Series Final at Sudbury Downs on Saturday night, thus completing the sweep
of the three-week series.
With his trainer Mario Rivest in the bike, Casimir Jitterbug, who was determined to make the front, was three-wide around the first turn. He got there before the :28-second opening quarter and then coasted past panels of :56.4 and 127.1 before easing under the wire in 1:57.
Owned by Rivest and his wife Kari, the three-year old Sir Luck-Undividedattention colt was prepared and timed to coincide with the Baby To Boomer Series opener. He had one start prior to the series, and on that occasion he came up a head short and finished second. He then went on to capture the first leg of the series in 1:58.3 followed by a career-best clocking of 1:56.2 in last week’s second leg.
The Northern Ontario-bred Casimir Jitterbug, who boasts earnings of $19,000, is a product of Murray McConnell’s Casimir Farms in Hagar, Ontario.
