Doug McNair Day at Hanover Raceway on Saturday, July 29 was a fun-filled afternoon!
Hanover's successful event recognized one of the nation's top drivers, Doug McNair, and did so on behalf of Saugeen Hospice, a local non-profit organization.
Smiles, autographs and candid conversations made an afternoon meet and greet with McNair a memorable experience for both driver and his racing fans.
Fans were also able to sign well wishes to McNair as Canada’s representative for the 2023 World Driving Championship.
The winner of a $500 grocery gift certificate was drawn by McNair’s grandmother, Gwen, at 2:52 p.m., while the 50/50 draw was announced following race seven. All proceeds went to the Saugeen Hospice, making it a successful day for the charity.
Post time was 1:30 p.m., and featured a full day of racing including the Dream Of Glory Trot eliminations.
McNair, who has childhood ties to the Hanover racing community, launched his driving career in 2008 and now has 4,380 wins while his mounts have earned more than $78 million in purses.
