Driver Sylvain Filion enjoyed a banner Tuesday night at Georgian Downs thanks to a five-win performance throughout the course of the twelve-race card.
The transplanted native of Quebec captured the opener with the odds-on favourite, Hilarious Hayley (1:56.1), for trainer Brad Shakes. And the wins just kept piling up for the talented reinsman.
Filion took Race 4 with the heavily-favoured First Avenue (1:56.3) before registering a natural hat-trick beginning in Race 9. It started with Fool Me Once (1:55.3) and he followed up with wins behind Jetcrest (1:56.4) and Western Expression (1:52.3) to bring his nightly win total to five.
Filion, who has racked up 207 wins this season, is now just 37 wins away from becoming harness racing’s newest member of the 7,000-wins club. He’s also less than $1 million away from surpassing the $70 million mark in lifetime purse earnings
