Driven by trainer Richard Veilleux, Herbie Drummond, a gelded son of Taurus Dream, led all the way to beat Mini Mel by three-quarters of a length in 2:01.1. He's owned by Drummond Farm of Saint-Hugues, Que.

The $15,000 final for distaffers went to SOS Godess, a five-year-old Monte Hall mare, who held off favourite Quelene Bayama by a length and a quarter in 2:00.4 with Pierre Desjardins in the sulky. The Maxim Robinson Desjardins pupil is owned by Maryann Robinson of Gatineau, Que.

Quebec-sired two-year-old trotting colts also were in the spotlight and the victor of their $15,000 final was the career debuting Decret Justiciale, a Justice Hall colt trained by Denis Filion and driven by Yves Filion. The favourite led from the start and finished up four lengths the best in a mile timed in 2:05.4, beating CJR Bozo. Breeder Jules Sigler of Ottawa, Ont., shares ownership of the winner with Danielle Levac of St-Augustin-Mirabel, Que.
