Mighty And Strong, owned by Patrick Morris, Charlottetown, P.E.I., is the morning line favourite in the $2,400 Image Works feature race Saturday at the Charlottetown Driving Park Entertainment Centre. Post time for the 12-dash card is 7 p.m.
Ron Matheson will guide Mighty And Strong off the rail against a powerful field of contenders that include Governor’s Plate starters Gemstone, Take The Risk, Pans O Silver and Riccaras Sun. Electric Moves, Whos Smiling Now and Victory Creed have also been entered.
Racing analyst Les MacIsaac is going with the horse on the rail, Mighty And Strong. “He was facing the bearcats on a weekly basis and since they were going around 1:55 every time and he was drawing outside he was finding the sledding a little tough,” explained MacIsaac. “He got some class relief last week and responded as an overwhelming favourite should. Moves back up after that one but they're still easier than what he's used to and with rail control again he could double up.”
