Trainer-driver Todd Schadel dominated the opening two days (Sunday, July 29 and Monday, July 30) of the four-day meeting at Clearfield County Fairgrounds, as the reinsman visited the winner's circle at the northcentral Pennsylvania oval on seven occasions over the 15 races.

Bumper Hanover, a Muscle-Massive–By A Nose Hanover filly, set a track record for trotters when winning her fourth straight on the half, taking an “A”-class Fair Sire Stakes contest in 2:03.3.

The time knocked four-fifths of a second off the previous standard set by JC Mik Mac Jillio a dozen years before.

Todd Schadel was not only the trainer-driver of the new track-record holder, but he also co-owns the quick miss with Christine Schadel along with the barn's three other winning Clearfield freshmen trotters.

Fastest male among the Sunday freshman trotters was Keystone Bentley, a son of Cantab Hall–Armbro Blusher, who, after two seconds and a third against the “A” Sire Stakes horses, finally made his breakthrough in 2:06.1 for Team Schadel.

Pacers went to the gate on Monday, when the track was rated “slow”. Crew Sock Hanover, a Well Said-Chantal Hall filly, remained undefeated after three starts on the fair circuit and is now a four-time winner overall, winning in 2:07 in an “A” Fair Sire Stake for trainer/driver David Brickell, who co-owns with Mitchell York.

Todd Schadel was again in the winners circle three times on Monday, including with the fastest pacing male on the day Motive Hanover, a gelding by Well Said-Maeve Hanover. He took a maiden mark of 2:01.4 for Schadel, who co-owns with his son Cody.

The other “A” winner in this section, the A Rocknroll Dance – Guan Yin gelding Dancin Yin, posted his second-straight win while getting home in 2:02.3 for driver Atlee Bender and trainer Erv Miller, whose Ervin Miller Stable Inc. co-owns with Omer Miller.

The three-year-old are slated for the final days of the meet, with trotters on Tuesday, July 31 and pacers on Wednesday, Aug. 1. Both days the action is scheduled to start at high noon.
