Cinamony is just better than her foes right now. She proved it again Friday night, winning Yonkers Raceway’s featured $42,000 Filly and Mare Open Handicap Pace for a third consecutive local victory.
Starting outside her six foes, Cinamony and driver George Brennan were content to be an early laggard as invading Inittowinafortune (Dan Dube) worked around Its A Miracle (Eric Carlson), laying down early intervals of :27.4 and :56.2.
It was Tipitina (Eric Goodell) offering weak, first-up company while Hot List (Brian Sears) gapped from second-over. That forced 4-5 choice Venus Delight (Jason Bartlett) and Cinamony around that one going toward a 1:24.1 three-quarters.
Inittowinafortune owned a length-and-a-half lead into the lane, but the wheels were wobbling. Cinamony uncoiled to rally widest and fastest, whipping a cone-skimming Alhambra (Tyler Buter)—the 28-1 rank outsider—by a neck in 1:53. Venus Delight, Its A Miracle and Hot List rounded out the payees, with the pace-setter tiring to sixth.
For third choice Cinamony, a four-year-old daughter of Art Official co-owned (as Burke Racing Stable LLC) by (trainer) Ron Burke and Weaver Bruscemi LLC, it was her fourth win in eight seasonal starts.
