Leaders At The Halfway Point

With six months of the 2010 harness racing season complete, a few new faces have emerged atop the leaderboard of Canadian trainers and drivers

Leading all Canadian drivers in wins is Brad Forward, who has 275 as of Saturday, July 3. The 2009 National Driving Champion is ten wins ahead of Simon Allard while last year's runaway dash winner Jody Jamieson sits third with 261.

A huge night on Saturday, June 26 with wins in the Pepsi North America Cup and the Fan Hanover helped propel the trainer-driver combination of Casie Coleman and Mark MacDonald to the top of the money standings for trainers and drivers. On the training side, Coleman's $1.78 million in Canadian earnings puts her ahead of Ben Baillargeon ($1.36 million) and Shawn Robinson ($1.25 million).

Mark MacDonald boasts nearly $4.3 million, the most for Canadian reinsmen. Jody Jamieson is second with $3.5 million while Randy Waples is third with nearly $3.3 million.

Rene Allard continues to have the most wins for trainers, as his total of 107 tops Shawn Robinson (96) and Jamie Copley (90).
