Heavily favoured Quincy Blue Chip went to the front and didn’t look back en route to capturing the $118,800 NYSS division for three-year-old trotting fillies Monday afternoon at Monticello Raceway.
Jim Morrill, Jr. was aboard the 1-5 favourite, and he wasted no time in hustling her to the lead from Post 2. Quincy Blue Chip carved out quarters of :28.4, :59 and 1:27.4 before using a :28.3 final frame to win by 1-3/4 lengths over Sensibility in 1:56.2. Winndevie took home the show dough.
Trainer Richie Banca co-owns the daughter of Chapter Seven-Sirenuse with Barbara and James Boese of Milton, DE. The win improved here 2019 record to 6-3-0 from 10 attempts and it bumped her overall earnings to $456,483.
