State-bred three-year-old fillies were the focus on Saturday, July 28 at Hawthorne Racecourse with two divisions of the Plum Peachy Stakes.
With favourite Allbeastnobeauty faltering late, Party Belle popped off the rail to win the first Plum Peachy division in 1:55.
Skeeter Machine hustled to the lead from the outside as driver Kyle Wilfong guided the horse through the opening quarter in :29.1. Chased by Party Belle through the half in :59.0, Skeeter Machine remained in control into the far turn.
After three quarters in 1:28.0, Skeeter Machine opened a two length lead into the lane as favoured Allbeastnobeauty tipped out to attempt to go after the leader. Allbeastnobeauty flattened out mid-stretch while Party Belle pulled out and was able to roll by late.
Party Belle was victorious by a length over Skeeter Machine. JBs Shooting Star rallied to finish third. Party Belle is owned by trainer Tyler George along with Ladavie Spann.
The Sis Master and driver Michele Morgan went wire to wire in the second division, pacing in 1:53.4.
Leading through a :28.2 quarter and the half in :57.2, The Sis Master was chased by Rollin Coal into the turn and maintained her lead passing three-quarters in 1:25.2. She then faced a pair of challenges from Rollin Coal and The New Americana in the stretch.
Digging in gamely, The Sis Master held on at the wire, winning by a half-length over Rollin Coal. The New Americana finished third. The Sis Master is owned by Bet-Mor Stable and trained by driver Michele Morgan.
