Hanover Raceway's program Saturday, July 29 was headlined by three $7,500 eliminations for the Dream Of Glory Trot, with the top two finishers and two third-place finishers moving onto the $60,000 final on Saturday, August 5.
Sent off the odds-on favourite, Magic Night won the first elimination going wire to wire in 1:59.3 over Yo Yo Mass and P C Silent Drive. Owned by Tommy Anderson, trained by Susanne Kerwood, and driven by Scott Young, the three-year-old Kadabra gelding scored his fourth win in 16 starts, earning $114,048. He paid $3.10 to win.
Scene A Magician won the second elimination, wiring the field in 2:00.1, with P C Pipe Dream finishing second and Charmbro Chrome third. The three-year-old Daylon Magician gelding, competing for owners Daylon Farms Limited, Gorden Yeo, and trainer Jennifer Pinkerton, won his fifth race in 15 starts and has earned $106,940. Driven by Jack Moiseyev, he paid $3.20 to win.
The final elimination went to Delcrest Magicstar, who took the lead after the quarter and advanced to a 1:59.1 win over Mister Muscle and Rosberg. His seventh win in 15 starts, the three-year-old Majestic Son filly races for owners James Macdonald, Peter Porter, and Jonathan MacKinnon and has earned $76,705 in her career. Trained by Mark Steacy and driven by Clarke Steacy, she paid $5.60 to win.
