Smuggler Hall completed a sweep of the Labatts Claiming Series on Saturday night at Georgian Downs, winning the $36,200 final for his new owners.

With four-time Saturday night winner J.R. Plante in the sulky, favourite Smuggler Hall ($4.80) swept to command from fourth after the half-mile mark and fought off Er Mr T and Paul MacKenzie to win by half a length in 1:57.4, equalling his mark set in the opening leg of the series. Macassie and J Harris finished over 10 lengths back in third

After winning his two opening leg divisions of the series under the care of trainer Mike Sinclair for owners Steve Organ and Rosemary Shelswell, the four-year-old son of Conway Hall was claimed for $15,625 by conditioner Rene Allard.

Smuggler Hall now sports a seasonal record reading 4-4-2 in 14 starts with close to $40,000 banked in purses.

The series is for $12,500 claimers that are non-winners of $60,000 lifetime as of June 15 (no allowances).
