Ungar Jumps Into Ownership Fray

With prior experience in horse ownership, Truro, NS resident Tracey Ungar recently took the leap into standardbred ownership this past May. And, as she explained to Matt Veno of the The Truro Daily News, it was a link to an individual close to the industry that has gotten her into the game

.

As the article explains, Ungar's connection to horseman Ryan Ellis has now translated to part ownership of five-year-old Aces N Seven gelding Evans Jackpot, a career earner of $40,282 in purses which in June recorded a solid 12-length victory over Truro Raceway.

Ungar said she and her family didn’t typically take in races, but now that they have a horse in the field, they are there to watch ‘Jack’ in every race they can.

“It’s really fun to be rooting for your horse,” Ungar was quoted as saying. “Even if he doesn’t win, it’s still exciting to watch them start and try to manoeuvre and get into position.”

The gelding’s next race is on Thursday at Truro Raceway (Race 11) and it will be looking for its third win of the year and seventh overall. The 13-dash card is part of the Atlantic Grand Circuit Week festivities at the Bible Hill oval.
