If your last name is Baillargeon, then you plenty of reasons to be pleased with the way the races went on Tuesday evening at Georgian Downs

.

Trainer Ben and driver Mario teamed up for a trio of victories on the 11-race program, and Mario added another catch-driving victory to bring his nightly win total to four.

Bet On Him took the checkered flag for the Baillargeons in the opener thanks to his gate-to-wire score in 1:54.4. They came right back to victory lane in the second half of the Daily Double wager with Famous Mark, who front-stepped his way to a 1:55.4 triumph in the feature race – the $15,000 Preferred Trot for horses & geldings.

Mario snuck in a catch-driving victory behind the Bob Young-trained Leading Legend, who went gate-to-wire in his sixth race assignment, and he completed his personal Grand Slam and the brotherly hat trick with Ben thanks to an off-the-pace triumph with JC Chaser in Race 10. The gelding halted the teletimer in 1:58.1.

Despite being sidelined for a good portion of the season following a serious leg injury suffered in a spill at Woodbine Racetrack earlier this year, Mario Baillargeon has racked up 82 wins and more than $1.5 million in purse earnings in the 2009 campaign.

Ben Baillargeon hasn’t missed a beat this year, and after tying with Rob Fellows for the top spot in the WEG standings in 2008 he is well on his way to winning the title outright this year. Tuesday’s training triple bumped Ben’s 2009 win total to 93 while his earnings climbed over the $1.7 million mark.
