Round two of the Dream Maker Series featured just a lone division during Tuesday evening’s 10-race card at Mohawk Racetrack, and The Wayfaring Man proved to be a cut above the other.

Jack Moiseyev mapped out a second-over trip for The Wayfaring Man, and the colt punched home in :28.1 to win by a pair of lengths in 1:54.1.

The Wayfaring Man got away fifth while Amora Beach and Migrate Blue Chip battled to the quarter pole in :28.4. Amora Beach worked his way to the top and sliced out middle splits of :57.2 and 1:25.2. Some Power put first-over pressure on the leader around the final turn, while The Wayfaring Man tracked that foe’s cover. Moiseyev pulled the trigger on his charge coming off the turn and he sailed past the leaders and drew away to the comfortable score. Amora Beach was next best, with third prize going to Migrate Blue Chip.

Sent off as the 4-5 favourite, the Nicky Comegna-trained son of Dragon Again-Armbro Wichita notched the maiden-breaking win for owner Bruno Comegna of Burlington, Ontario. The rookie was a $62,000 purchase from last year’s Lexington Select Yearling Sale.
