Three-year-old pacing filly Stryking Dove completed a sweep of the three-week Juggernaut Pacing Series at Sudbury Downs with a dominant victory in Sunday's $17,200 final.
Stryking Dove, one of just two fillies in the nine-horse field, advanced first over from third at the half and opened up five lengths on top heading for home. Sophomore colt Bilbo Hanover rallied from the backfield to place while four-year-old Jet Set Style came in third. The final margin of victory for Stryking Dove was three and a quarter lengths and the winning time was 1:58.2.
Sent postward as the bettors' choice, Stryking Dove paid $5.40 to win.
The L H Stryker filly is bred, owned and trained by Kyle Reibeling of Rockwood, Ont. Unraced at two, she now has a career record reading 5-3-4 in 17 starts and over $35,000 banked in purses.
Sudbury Downs meet leader Justin Turcotte was the winning driver and ended the day with a double. He also steered Grins Little Flirt ($5.70) to a 1:59.4 victory in a $4,500 Fillies & Mares Preferred 3 Pace for trainer Symon Pryjma.
