Driver Scott Coulter dominated Friday night's 12-race card at Grand River Raceway with five victories, including a pair of double-digit winners.
Coulter earned his first win of the night in race two aboard Richard Moreau trainee Luke But Dontouch ($5.20). He was also victorious with Boknows Momngranny ($9.20) in the fifth race for trainer James Hewitt, maiden-breaker Orillia Santina ($7.70) in the seventh for Terry McCormick, Augusta ($6.70) in the 10th for Steve Coulter, and upsetter Bold Arrow ($18.70) in the finale for John Smith.
Both six-year-old pacer Boknows Momngranny and sophomore trotting filly Augusta posted win margins that were greater than 11 lengths.
Coulter ranks third in the Elora driving colony with 25 local victories this year behind Brad Forward (30) and meet leader Trevor Henry (44). The Brantford, Ont. reinsman has steered a total of 163 winners this year and is among the top five drivers on the national leaderboard.
In addition to the regular harness racing program, Grand River Raceway also hosted its first Racing Under Saddle exhibition trot race in which 12-year-old Harlequin and Riina Rekila won by three lengths in 2:02.2 over Oaklea Uptown and Marit Valstad.
