'Jeanie' Surpasses A Perfect Ten

Not even an outside start from post position nine could stop the streaking Seeking Jeanie from running up her perfect lifetime record to 100 straight wins on the Wednesday, July 27 program at The Isle Casino Racing Pompano Park

.

Seeking Jeanie's latest conquest was in the championship final of July's Sunshine State Stakes, the first of five events this year for the Florida Standardbred Breeders And Owners Association (FSBOA). Driver Wally Hennessey had the three-year-old daughter of Wesgate Storm-Sightseek on the move to quickly take command of the lead and she dominated the rest of the way in a lifetime best clocking of 2:00.3 over Little Peanut, in rein to Robert Williams Jr., and Brielle T, driven by Mickey McNichol.

Dan Hennessey trains the career winner of $78,958 for owner Arthur Mergenhagen of Williston, Florida. 'Jeanie' and her rivals will now get a seven week rest until they resume action for four more FSBOA stakes series when the new season commences in the third week of September.

Three other $10,000 purse finals were decided on the mid-week card in South Florida to conclude July's Sunshine State Stakes.

Famous Hall continued his dominant ways in the three-year-old colt and gelding trot division with a front end score in 1:58.3 with Wally Hennessey. Lugar with Richie Simard in the bike and Youknowwhatilike partnered by Robert Williams Jr. followed next under the wire. Famous Hall, a three-year-old Famously-Hall Of Stars homebred colt is trained by Marc Aubin for Amante Standardbreds of Delray Beach, Florida and this win upped his career bankroll to $78,548.

In the two-year-old finals of July's Sunshine State Stakes, Such A Dreamer capitalized when Peace Please made an unexpected break in stride in the filly trot division. Owner and trainer Terry McIntyre also piloted the rookie daughter of Arapa Victory-Such A Sensation home in 2:03.2. Laurie Lee Poulin bred Such A Dreamer, who converted from a pocket trip to move past Pinch Of Thyme with Wally Hennessey for the win.

In the colt and gelding final, Matcan was flawless from post nine to score in 2:05.4 with Tom Sells in the bike. Matcan is trained by Stewart Nemiro of the Bruce Ranger Stable for owner Fred Monteleone of Pompano Beach, Florida.

It's been a long and exciting ride since the current meet began back on October 2, 2010 and the concluding card before a seven week break is this Saturday night, July 30.

In addition to all four pacing finals of July's Sunshine State Stakes, special guests at The Winter Capital Of Harness Racing will be a delegation from the Children's Foundation For Equine Assisted Therapy. The organization is a frequent recipient of charitable donations from the Florida Amateur Driving Club for their important and compassionate work assisting special needs children and young adults through a unique hands on exposure to horses. For more information on Saturday night's targeted charitable cause at Pompano, see www.childrensfeat.org. Saturday night's action will be streamed live at www.theislepompanopark.com in the 'racing' tab and the 7:05 p.m. card will be preceded by two non-wagering events.

After Saturday night's program, there's a seven week pause in the live harness racing action until September 21 at The Winter Capital Of Harness Racing.
