Dresden Raceway celebrated eight former horsemen and managers who built the small half-mile track and helped make it a great place for families to spend a Sunday afternoon.
George Deacon, Jack Martin, Ray Unsworth, George Langstaff, Lorne Johnston, Levi “Jiggs” McFadden, Wilf Duford and Ron Stevens were all honoured during Sunday afternoon's harness racing card for the contributions they have made to Dresden Raceway, both on and off the track.
Nick Steward won four races on the program with Acton Real Foolish, Sandburg Hanover, Jimcampbell and M G Idole, giving him 25 wins on the year and a lock on the driver’s title at Dresden Raceway.
The total handle today at Dresden Raceway was $17,948.
