Atlantic Sires Stakes racing action will be heating up again this week, as Truro Raceway’s busiest week of harness racing gets underway during Atlantic Grand Circuit Week.
The two and three-year-old trotters will show their stuff on Tuesday evening when three divisions of three-year-olds go for a purse of $4,300 each. Meanwhile, the two-year-olds will go for $5,340 in two divisions.
The two-year-old pacing fillies will also highlight the Tuesday evening race card, as three 'A' divisions will go for $7,080 each and three 'B' divisions will go for $2,500 each.
First-race post time on Tuesday is 7:00 p.m.
On Thursday evening it will be the two-year-old pacing colts turn to shine. Three 'A' divisions will each go for $7,400 each and two 'B' divisions will go for $2,500. Then, on Saturday evening, the three-year-old pacing colts will meet for competition at the Truro oval.
Points accumulated in each Atlantic Sires Stakes 'A' division and trot event goes towards earning entry into the season-ending Atlantic Breeders Crown Championships. This year Truro Raceway will host the premier harness racing event. The Weekend Festival of Racing will take place October 8, 9 and 10 and will include the ATSS championships and consolations, as well as invitational races and the Nova Scotia Provincial Exhibition Select Yearling Sale.
