After settling for the runner-up award in back-to-back starts at Evergreen Park, Admired Beauty returned to the
half-mile oval on Sunday and got all the marbles in the top class for the pacing mares.
The $11,000 Fillies & Mares Open proved to be a piece of cake for Admired Beauty, who brushed to the lead in the back half of the mile and powered away from her foes in a time of 1:56.
Trainer/driver Keith Clark sat fourth with five-year-old daughter of Apaches Fame-Armbro Teacher until the mid-way point before asking her to step to the outside. When he called on her for speed she complied en route to rallying to the driving off victory. It was more than two lengths back to longshot Bette Blue Chip. Second Fancy grabbed the third prize in the five mare affair.
Clark of De Winton shares ownership on the 21-time winner with Niele Jiwan of Burnaby, British Columbia. Her 2009 record improved to 10-4-4 in 23 starts, while her overall bankroll climbed to $143,752 with the winning effort.
