Trot Insider has learned that Nag, a career winner of 19 races and more than $193,000 in purses, had to be humanely euthanized this past Thursday (July 21)

.

A 10-year-old son of Nagano, Nag had raced just one day prior to his euthanization. The ridgling had made seven starts this year for his owner-trainer Keith Campbell of Tyne Valley, PEI.

The ridgling had come into Campbell's barn in May of 2009, and proved to be a good earner, as he regularly banked purse cheques at Red Shores' Summerside Raceway and Charlottetown Driving Park.

From 146 career starts, Nag sported a slate which read 13-31-22, $193,461 in purses and a record of 1:52.4, taken over Mohawk Racetrack at the age of four.

Please join Standardbred Canada in offering condolences to the connections of Nag.
