Driver Wally Hennessey manufactured a five-win performance during Friday’s card at Tioga Downs, and on the training side of things Gaston Lareau produced a four-win performance with horses from his outfit.
Hennessey got the ball rolling with a 1:52.3 triumph in the $8,000 Fillies & Mares Open Handicap with Prairie Cougar, and he tacked on wins with Money Earned (1:53.2), Princess Holly (1:54.1), Maddelle (1:55) and Freak On A Leash (1:53.1).
Lareau’s winners were Money Earned (1:53.2), Blurred Lines (1:55), Maddelle (1:55) and Freak On A Leash (1:53.1).
Hennessey’s five-win performance gives him 10,541 career wins and purse earnings that are quickly closing in on $70 million. Lareau’s Grand Slam gives him 665 lifetime wins and added to his career earnings which stand in excess of $3.5 million.
Tioga Downs returns to live racing with a 13-race card featuring two divisions of the New York Sire Stakes for three-year-old trotting colts and geldings. Post time is 4 p.m.
