Race-favourite Justice Jet powered first over to take the $12,500 Winners-Over Trot on Tuesday, July 24 at Saratoga Casino Hotel.
Driver Jimmy Deveaux placed the 7-5 choice third as Mister Muscle recovered from a leave-attempt gallop to lead the field to the first quarter. Past the first half in :58.3, Deveaux sent Justice Jet after Mister Muscle and matched strides rounding the final turn. Mister Muscle cut the corner and retook the lead narrowly before Justice Jet edged past in the final strides to win in 1:56.3. Mister Muscle was disqualified from second due to his break at the start, placing Silent Pine second and Ulster in third.
Justice Jet gave his trainer Gary Levine a training double as Levine’s Victoria Swan won her fourth-consecutive race. Bruce Aldrich Jr. sat in the sulky.
