New York Simulcasting Dispute Heats Up

According to Harness Tracks of America's Daily Newsletter, the dispute between the New York Racing Association and Nassau Regional OTB, over Nassau streaming of NYRA races without permission starting last April, has turned into a very nasty fight.

NYRA cut its signal to Nassau in June, accusing Nassau of piracy of intellectual property, and Nassau contends it was unaware of the violation during those two and one-half months, blaming the problem on third parties.

Nassau president Dino Amoroso called NYRA president and CEO Charles Hayward “a liar and a thief.”
