Cumberland Raceway has plenty on offer this weekend as a three-day run starts on Friday, July 24 and rolls through Sunday, with a total of 43 races going postward.
In addition to the abundant on-track action, on Saturday, First Tracks will carry the entire 16-race card from The Meadows, featuring the 60th renewal of the Grade 1 $420,500 USD Delvin Miller Adios.
Friday’s card features three $15,328 USD divisions of the Maine Sire Stakes for two-year-old pacing colts and geldings. Many of the freshman sidesteppers are making their second pari-mutuel starts and are aiming to establish themselves as top contenders in the state-sired program.
In the $6,400 USD fifth-race conditioned feature trot, Party At Seven will look to keep the good times rolling with his third consecutive victory. Saddled with post eight, the six-year-old son of Chapter Seven-Tickettotheparty faces a steeper challenge after dominating the field last time. He has been pegged at 4-1 on the morning line with Nick Graffam in the bike. Remember Titans (PP5, Kevin Switzer Jr., 5-2) and Tcs Brenda (PP6, McGwire Sowers, 7-2) are first in line to test that rival.
Saturday’s action starts early with a pair of $14,000 USD non-wagering events for three-year-old filly pacers in the Maine Sire Stakes, starting at 11:45 a.m. Snowonthepines enters the first division with a perfect career record through 13 starts. Racing continues with another 13-race pari-mutuel card starting at 12:15 p.m. Bettors will also be able watch and wager on the entire card from The Meadows, featuring the Adios. First post on that card from Washington, Pa. will be 11:30 a.m.
Sunday’s program also starts early with a pair of non-wagering $14,000 USD Maine Sire Stakes splits for trotters, followed by a 13-race betting card and two more divisions for Pine Tree State-bred trotters.
First post is 12:15 p.m. during the extended pari-mutuel meeting, which runs through Aug. 2.
