Put On A Show Headlines Tarport Hap

Three-year-old filly pacers will step out in the $176,000 Tarport Hap on Saturday night at Meadowlands Racetrack

Put On A Show looks to deliver another winning performance as the 7-5 favourite in the first of the two $88,000 splits (Race 3). Brian Sears will sub for her regular partner, Tim Tetrick, in the sulky.

Trained by Chris Ryder, Put On A Show has won five of six races this season, including the $175,000 Miss New Jersey and $200,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes finals. She fell a neck short of stopping Western Silk in the Fan Hanover Final at Mohawk, her only 2010 loss. Lifetime, the daughter of Rocknroll Hanover-Stienam's Place has a record of 12 wins and three second in 15 starts and earnings of $1.1 million. Craig Henderson and Richard and Joanne Young own the filly.

Dancinwiththestarz, a standout in the Pennsylvania Sire Stakes program, is the 5-2 favourite in the second division (Race 7). She will start from Post 8 with Sears at the lines. Dancinwiththestarz has been first or second in 15 of 18 career starts for just over $450,000 in earnings. Mark Harder trains the daughter of Four Starzzz Shark-So Western for W Springtime Racing Stable and Shannon Brott.

Hambletonian Beer & BBQ Dinner Set For July 31

The 2010 Hambletonian Festival at Meadowlands Racetrack kicks off with a night of suds, BBQ and the world's greatest harness racing on Saturday, July 31.

The Hambletonian Beer and BBQ dinner features unlimited beer samplings, all-you-can-eat buffet, admission, live racing program and commemorative pint glass - all for just $40* per person! Featured beers include (but are not limited to): Sam Adams Coastal Wheat, Sam Adams Summer Ale, Budweiser Select 55, Bud Light Lime, Bud Light Golden Wheat and New Jersey's own Flying Fish. The all-you-can eat buffet includes Little Neck clams with chorizo & garlic herb butter, mussels in Belgian ale, BBQ chicken wings, hot dogs, hamburgers, grilled sausages and more.

On the track, the sport's top trotters vie for a starting spot in the $1.5 million Hambletonian and $750,000 Hambletonian Oaks.
