Fans on Prince Edward Island will get an up close view of one of the most talked about horses to hit the Invitational circuit when Proven Lover competes in the Saturday night feature at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park

. Post time is 7 p.m.

Proven Lover, owned by Walter Simmons of Summerside and Casey Gavin of Tignish, moved to a new stable operated by trainer Stacey Lund and her regular pilot Gary Chappell. The team makes their first appearance in Race 7 against Mighty And Strong, Pans O Silver, BJ Cruiser and CL Eighty. All the entries, with the exception of BJ Cruiser, appeared in the Governor’s Plate final or Consolation where Proven Lover finished sixth.

Fans will see the horses up-close when a new outdoor paddock next to the grandstand opens for the evening card for one race. The horses will report to the paddock after they complete their warm-up mile after the 5th race.

Windsong Gaillard will attempt to keep his two-race win streak alive in the evening’s trot class presented by the MacPhail Clan. Marc Campbell will do the driving for owners John Pineau and Myron Ford while Smart Barney is the morning line favourite in the Allen Street Sobeys pace in Race 6.
