A set of $10,000 divisions of the Kindergarten Series for two-year-old trotting colts and gelding was contested during the early portion of Thursday evening's card at the Meadowlands Racetrack
, with The Lindy Reserve and Evil Urges capturing their respective assignments.
Frank Antonacci rallied The Lindy Reserve to a 1:56 victory in the opening division. The son of SJs Caviar-Crown N Lindy, who was sent off at odds of 9-2 won by 8-1/2 lengths over Whit (Andy Miller). Third prize went to Celebrity Bombay (Ron Pierce).
The Antonacci-trained homebred is owned by the Lindy Racing Stable of Enfield, CT.
David Miller eked out a narrow win in the second division with Evil Urges, who got up in the final strides to win by a head over race favourite Charlie De Vie (Tim Tetrick). United Face S (Jimmy Takter) rounded out the top three finishers. The mile was trotted in 1:56.
Homer Hochstetler conditions the son of Cash Hall-Siren Hall for Connie Hochstetler of Crete and Robert Buddig of Hinsdale, IL. The victory improved the rookie’s record to 2-0-1 in four tries. He was a $27,000 purchase at last year’s Harrisburg Yearling Sale.
