Some of Canada's top reinsmen will be descending on St. John's Racing and Entertainment Centre in Newfoundland on Sunday, July 26 for the second annual
Canadian Drivers Showcase.
Trot Insider has learned that drivers Scott Coulter, Brad Forward, Guy Gagnon, Jody Jamieson, Luc Ouellette and Todd Trites are expected to be taking part in the showcase.
During the morning of Saturday, July 25, a harness racing youth camp will be taking place. There will be an adult camp/owners seminar taking place later that evening.
The events are being put on to help promote the sport of harness racing within the province, and to possibly get the provincial government more involved, but first and foremost to attract new members and fans.

I think it is a wonderful
I think it is a wonderful thing that these top drivers are willing to participate in these events to promote the racing industry. Like local driver,Brad Forward, many of these guys got their beginnings at the smaller tracks and even with the success they achieved ,they never forgot where it all started for them and are willing to give of their time to promote and keep these smaller tracks alive. This event gives the local fans a rare chance to see these pros strut their stuff.A big thanks go out to the orginazers of this event and to all the drivers.I hope have a great your time, while here in Newfoundland, and I wish you all continued success in your driving careers.
