Old Buck and driver David Dowling teamed up to capture Sunday afternoon's (July 22) $2,200 featured pacing event at Red Shores at Summerside Raceway as the driver approaches a career milestone.
The Alan MacDonald-trained Old Buck stalked Offshore Cowboy (Dale Spence) throughout most of the mile, then got up in the stretch drive to win by a neck in 1:56.3. Offshore Cowboy was second while third went to Artist List (Adam Merner). MacDonald had two wins on the day, with Scottish Light breaking her maiden in 2:00.2 with Norris Rogers at the controls.
Dowling had three driving wins on the program, bringing him three shy of 1,000 lifetime victories. Dowling also won with Souverain in 1:58.2 for Phil Sizer and Sendmeasign in 1:59.1 for Alex Sobey.
Rogers also had three wins as he clicked with O Christopher in 2:00 and Allstar Seelster in 1:56.3 for trainer Ed Harvey.
