The latest I Love Canadian Harness Racing Fan Club online contest offers a very exciting prize package: two tickets to the Hall of Fame induction ceremony, which takes place on Wednesday, August 5!
Here is your opportunity to cheer on your favourites as they take their places in horse racing history. In 100 words or less, tell us what one of the 2015 inductees mean to you and why you would like to be there to support them. The Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be hosted at the Mississauga Convention Centre at 75 Derry Road, Mississauga, Ontario, on Wednesday, August 5. The cocktail reception and silent auction begin at 5:30 p.m. with the four course gourmet dinner at 6:30 p.m. along with the induction ceremony and a live auction.
The Hall of Fame will be inducting 10 exceptional members of the Canadian horse racing industry, comprised of seven people and three horses. Standardbred inductees include Charles Armstrong, Harry Eisen, Artsplace, J Cs Nathalie and Bill Gale. From the Thoroughbred side, the Hall of Fame will be inducting Jim Bannon, Roger Laurin, Mind That Bird, Robert Anderson and Stewart Elliot.
The evening will also commemorate the 50th Anniversary of George Royal as the first horse from Western Canada to be named Horse of the Year and the 50th Anniversary of Armbro Flight’s three-year-old race season. Two individuals will be honoured in the ‘Legends’ category, Col. Rud Marshall and Harold H.
